My dearest Debbie,
You are so dearly loved. As I read the messages on this page I see the love that I have for you is found in every person that has ever had the joy of meeting you. You are an amazing woman - an amazing woman of faith. If anyone could come through this, it is you, through your faith, love and your love and joy for life itself.
I hope you know there are a ton of people here at Pepperdine praying for you. The Lamberts, the Phillips and the Wilsons especially send their love.
I am praying for you continually, but ESPECIALLY as you are without Aurora right now. I know that is probably the most painful part of these tests. I also know that she is being spoiled rotten by her aunts, and very well taken care of. I anticipate the joy and comfort you will receive when you are able to hold her in your arms again - a precious gift from God.
If there is ANYTHING in this world I can do for you, please do not hesitate to ask.
I love you tons.

Dear Debbie & Dewey,
I am from Marietta, Ga., and I had the pleasure of meeting the two of you about 5 or 6 years ago in France. Karen N. is my dear friend and while visiting--she had you, Hugh, and your dear missionary friends who were connected with an orphanage in Bulgaria(?) over for dinner. In any case, Karen and I always refer to that evening as our "international dinner party" at the Chateau. What a delightful memory it has been for me & I remember you well.
I've printed the picture of the THREE of you, now, to put on my mirror--so that each and every day I'll be reminded to send thoughts and prayers to God for courage, healing, and strength. I know that you will be in the best hands with Dewey and your sisters caring for you. If you have ANY needs at all, please don't hesitate to call me. I'm not far away.

Love, Kathy

P.S. Aurora is beautiful!

My brother, Scott, was flooded with prayer warriors and an amazing medical staff when he was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor a year ago. He has successfully survived surgery, radiation, chemo, and high-dose chemo and is alive and very well--back in medical school as we speak. You will be amazed at how doors and windows will open for you on your journey, and there will be no doubt that the Holy Spirit is guiding you through this miserable, dark time. Here is a quote that helps me. I found it in the Garden of Gethsemane about 10 years ago. "You, O Jesus, in Gethsemane in deepest night and agony spoke these words of surrender and trust to God the Father...(Matt. 26:39). In gratitude and love I want to say with You, in my hours of fear and trouble,"My Father, I do not understand You, but I trust You."

Much love--we've added you to our family prayer list.

Hi-just wanted to send you a quick note. By now you are probably back from the hospital and resting up. I'm so sorry that you will have no contact with your little Sug for a while- I'm glad that your sisters are there to help with Aurora and give her extra special loving. We are thinking of you always and we can't wait to see you when you get back to Atlanta.

Dear Debbie and Dewey,

I believe we have only met once close to 10 years ago at Karen's house where we sang very badly with John Castlebury and a guitar! HoweverI feel I know a lot about you as Karen through out the years has always talked about her visits with you. Karen told me recently of your news and I just wanted to let you know you were in my thoughts in prayers.

Yours Truly,

Dear Debbie, I was reading an email from David Walker whom our congregation supports and he told of your recent diagnosis. I am a cancer survivor of a little over a year
and my message to you is what your mother talked about in her message-put all your trust, faith, hope and prayer in our Father above. He will take care of you and yours!

Judy, Earl, Sherri, Earl R., Michael and Tami,
I just want you to know that our prayers are with you all, too! I remember the day Deb was born, spending so much time with you all when she was little and how full of light and sunshine she always was then. We will keep praying that God sustains you all witht he strength to keep giving her all your strength as Debbie, Dewey and Aurora return to Atlanta. This is such a curable cancer and we live in a time that the doctors know so much more. I am just so very grateful that Debbie researched and found out about this and insisted upon the test. I will hold onto that as a sign that God directed her to that information, he will direct her and the doctors through her COMPLETE recovery.
I just re-read my message to Debbie and there are so many misspellings, please forgive me. The tears are hard to type through. Judy, please take care of yourself, too.

Debbie,
I feel very blessed that God has given us these past couple of weeks to visit with you, Dewey and precious Auroa.
What a fantastic day in the park. I was remembering when you were about 5 and while I was spending the summer with you all, you were sick. It didn't phase you at all. You were happy, bubbly, full of giggles and music. I pray that even though this is a hard time that God will fill you up with all these emotions to ease you, Dewey and Aurora through this. I, David your cousins, Laurel, Cole and Amanda, are praying daily for God to give you strength, hope and the doctor's wisdom to make your light shine brightly. Our God is an awesome all powerful one and we know that you couldn't be in stronger more gentle hands. I will see you this weekend and bring you "PICKLES" and of course "bubbles". We love you so very much and hope these messages help you get through this day a little easier.

Love ya bunches, Aunt Karen

Cathy Holford sent me your request. I pray that our Father in Heaven will now bless and free Debbie of this cancer that is not wanted. We rebuke this disease and claim Debbie's healing on the basis of Jesus' suffering. Is. 53:4,5 Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows: Yet we have esteemed Him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted but He was wounded for our transgressions,He was bruised for our iniquities: The chastisement of our peace was upon Him;and with His stripes we are healed." Lord we believe in Your promises to us. You bear the name of "Yahweh-Rapha" God our Healer. We come against all the works and scheming of the enemy and declare that we have the victory that Jesus Christ has already won for us. We apply these promises on behalf of Debbie, and plead bodly for your great mercy to come and take away her pain and her disease. We know that we have the commission to preach the gospel and heal the sick. We also know that your word is accompanied by testifying signs and wonders. Send forth your word and heal now this precious daughter of Yours, Father. We know your goodness and mercy and we ask that you would now bestow that healing and removal of this affliction to Debbie, Your princess, an heir together with Jesus. We bless you and praise You dear Father and ask that this be done as a testimony of Your Sovereignty over disease and all the works of the enemy. Restore Debbie to complete healing with no pain, only joy in what You, Jehovah-Jireh our Provider has done for Your great glory to destroy all the works of the enemy. In You, we make our boast all the day long! We praise you for Your great love, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.!!Hallelujah!!!

Dearest Pixie, Dumplin, Debbie-Doodlebug,
Now you know who sends you this message of deepest love before you get to the end :)
How I wish I could be there with you these next few days! However, God is blessing you with Sherri & Tami and because I have prayed earnestly to know the best things to do each moment, I know this is His plan and it will give you great comfort to know they will be playing with and caring for your/our sweet Aurora. We are preparing everything for you here as we pray for you constantly as well as for Dewey & Aurora. What great comfort we feel as we read & reread the wonderful notes from our friends around the world! Our God is beyond AWESOME! We put everything in His hands as we look for the blessings ahead. Our cup truly runs over.

May you feel great comfort each moment today and everyday knowing that He loves you and Dewey and Aurora more than we can even imagine.

I rejoice in Him for you!

With the love only I (your Maman) can have for you.

Dear Debbie & Dewey
I was very sad when I heard about the challenges that you are facing. I can't begin to imagine what you must be going through. I wanted you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. It was encouraging to read the email you sent to your dad yesterday and to see the strength of your faith (although Dewey, metal! - you could do better than that!). I do pray that your faith will stay strong, that you will have the continued support of your brethren, that Aurora will bring you much joy and laughter especially when you are low, and that God will bless you with healing. Know that the brethren in Northampton will be praying for you.
With much love

Debbie, Dewey and sweet Aurora.
We continue to have you in all of our daily (even hourly) prayers. You and your entire family mean quite a lot in my life personally.
I came across the following and thought You would gleen something from it.

"When Jesus healed the woman in Matthew 9, he told her that her faith has made her well. He was also saying to her, you're very special to me, daughter. I know you don't have anything to offer me; but your Father has not forgotten you" Our Savior says the same to us when we need his healing hand.
Jeseu and his desciples saw a blind man while walking down the road. The disciples said "Jesus who has sinned?" Jesus answered "NO one sinned" Then Jesus healed the man. and he eternally answered that our pain is not a result of our sin. God is not so small that he would zap us for making a mistake. This passages teached just the opposite: Our Savior is not asleep; Jesus is alive and well and interested in our pain.

We have a father who is filled with compassion, a feeling Father who hurts when his children hurt,We serve a God who says that even when we're under pressure and feel like nothing is going to go right, he's waiting for us, to embrace us whether we succeed or fail,

He doesn't come quarreling and wrangling and forcing his way into anyone's heart. He comes into our hearts like a gentle lamb...not a roaring lion."
Father, forgive us all for the times that we have questioned you; forgive us for the times we've doubted or cried "why me"Forgive us for the times we've shaken our heads and pounded our fists against the earth and cried "Lord, where are you?" For Father, we know that you have been right here with us...You've carried us through the valley and you and you alone have given us strength. Please be with Debbie and her family for now and for always.
Love

Sweet Debbie, I am so sorry to hear of this bad news. You were always a great friend of our children while you and they were together in Bangkok. We love you and thank God for your service to Him through the years. Troy told us about this problem and my heart has been heavy with it since. I don't claim to understand God's work in His people, but I trust that He works all things for the good of them that love Him. In the last ten years here in Phuket, Thailand I have had my left femur broken, my left knee cap, my left shin broken in two places along with my right foot and then last not too long ago I broke my left hip. I don't know the reason for all this, but I do trust God and know that He has everything in control and with faith He works it all out to the good of our souls and His kingdom. "Cast all your anxiety upon him, because he careth for you." He has proven His great love to us in the cross that His only Son endured for us, He will never let you down. Know that from the moment I heard till now I have not ceased to pray for you and yours. We love you and God loves you even more than we can understand. He holds you in His hand. Peace be in your heart as you face the coming days. Know we will not cease to be praying for you.

The Bridges family has always been and will always be close to my heart. Our family attended Earl and Judy's graduation from Sunset School of Preaching. Then, after they were our missionaries in Thailand I visited them in Thailand. The Melbourne Church of Christ, where I am an elder sponsored the family in Thailand and then we sponsored each of the children in the AIM Program. Presently, I am preparing for a mission trip to Guyana, South America, but I pray for Debbie and the family each time I think of them during the day. May God richly bless you and give you comfort during this difficult time.

Hi Debbie, Dewey & Aurora! I have always felt a kinship to you because of all that Tami & Fritz have told me about the way you love and nurture each other & Aurora. Our daughter, Erica, is four days older than Aurora, and she, like Aurora, sleeps with us, is still nursing, and I've never been away from her for more than five or six hours. When I heard that you would have to be away from Aurora for 72 hours straight, I truly felt your pain. So my prayer for you now is that you feel a deep sense of peace, joy and even adventure through this strange time of having to trust others with your precious child. Tami and Sherri will be GREAT at entertaining, nurturing, and loving Aurora while you take care of your body. I will be praying just as fervently for Aurora's sense of peace and joy. And Dewey -- I just can't imagine what all this is like for you. I'll be praying non-stop for you, too!
Please know that the entire college community of Lees-McRae is joining me in prayer -- as is my prayer group in Washington,D.C. I hope you feel the peace. Love, Rachel McClure (Banner Elk, NC)

Our son Shane and Fritz shared a house @ ACU. I am praying for your full recovery. May you be gently held in the palm of God's hand while you trust in him.

I am including my husband's testimony delivered to Highland Church of Christ on December 5, 1999.
"There are some things that I don't know, but there are some things that I do know.

God is in control.

I believe that with all my heart. I know that God can do any miracle He desires. I know that if it is God's plan, He can heal me. But I want you to understand that I also know this: my physical well being is not a test for God: it is not a test of God's mercy; it is not a test for the faithfulness of this church; it is not a test for the power of your prayers; because God has healed me.

He has healed every one of us that have already called on His name. I know that just as well as I know my own name. I know that I have been healed, and I have been forgiven. God has forgiven me, and He has saved me.

We know how all this comes out.

That is the beauty of all of this. We have no confusion about how all this comes out. We see a lot of the power of Satan in the world, but we know that the battle has been won by God. It is not a negotiated peace; it is over. God won. What ever God's plan is for my physical health, I pray that my family's faith will remain strong and that this church's faith will remain strong."

Don's Blessing

"May the spirit of Christ be renewed in each of us. May the saltiness of our tears wash away our doubts and all our fears. May we claim quiet strength in suffering. May we never, never lose our faith in You. May each heart here be filled to overflowing with God's hope. May our united voices proclaim your healing love for each of our souls, no matter what happens. May we say to each other and the world around us, 'God will take care of us.'"

I am praying for God's truth to be your healing balm!

Debbie, we've never met, but we've heard much about you from Fritz and Tami, seen pictures of your beautiful daughter and admired your husband's artwork. You are in our thoughts and prayers every day, and we are among the legions who await more news about your situation. Just this week, I've read e-mails (through my work) exchanged among health care professionals (not necessarily even believers themselves) who were marveling at the healing powers of prayer. Dearest Debbie, Dewey & Aurora,
We are friends of Sherri and Larry Boon, and love them dearly. Although we are not related physically, we are brothers and sisters in Christ. When one of our family members hurts, we all hurt! When one is discouraged, we all are! We will stand in agreement with you for total healing in the name of Jesus! We will continue to pray for your healing that Jesus gets all the glory. Phil 4:4-7 "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." We are praying for the peace that only the Lord can give and the rest in HIM! HE IS ABLE! Please know that you are loved deeply and may your faith and trust rest in the creator of the universe!

Hi Debbie~
Fritz and Tami are friends of mine, we attended the same church in Abilene, Texas and also Fritz was the creator of the first website for the ministry that I work for, World Wide Youth Camps.

Just a note to let you know that I am trusting the Father for your complete healing. Nothing at all is impossible or difficult for Father God, He holds all of you, Dewey, Debbie, and Aurora, in the palm of His hand. That is the safest place to be! He hears and acts on every prayer that is spoken. The prayers of the righteous are powerful and effective. James 5:16 Believe it!

Blessings and Perfect Peace to you, Sister~

Dear Debbie,
Having experienced the power of God in healing, we know that he is truly an awesome God. Since we know what wonderful faith you and your loving family have, we are sure that he will answer your calls for help. Jesus said for us to have faith and to not doubt, but to believe that what he says will happen, and it will be done. "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." He gives us hope, sweet hope. We are trusting in him to bring you through this trial of fire, Debbie. When Bill suffered a terrible brain injury after a fall, we had to stay focused on the Lord and the miracles that he brings to us. We pray for your body to be healed. We pray for your sweet baby to feel your love while you must be apart. We pray for Dewey and his many concerns. We pray that the Holy Spirit will comfort you as you go through tests and procedures that will cure you. Let Him wrap you in his loving spirit and feel confident that He is near. Much love,Debbie...hang tough! Love, Barbara from the Melbourne church

Debbie, Dewey and Aurora..I just want you to know how many people in Woodstock GA especially @ Woodstock Church of Christ are praying for you. We had a special prayer in the devo service, another in the ladies class and another with a group of very special friends who gathered in the library. Also, my daughter Lisa and her husband Jason attend Oak Hill Church of Christ in Rome, GA. They have your name on the public prayer list and many folks there are praying for you daily. Many in both congregations have expressed and interest in sending you cards. If you would like this you can contact me through e-mail:tjh347@aol.com.

I wanted to send this special thought along also..
"Where is God when we hurt? Where is he when sleep won't come? Where is he when we awaken in a hospital bed with pain that won't subside? He's right here. He hung on the gallows to prove once and for all, with pierced hands and bloodstained face--that he's here--that he didn't creat the hurt, but he came to take it away. When you hurt, God hurts with you, When you wipe away tears of pain, frustration or anguish, in heaven there's a pierced hand approaching a heavenly face wiping away a tear.

Sometimes storms of life come to teach us that God is in control, that we must lean on him. We should serve God even if there is darkness enveloping our life and even if we don't understand what's happening...even when the circustances of our life don't make sense. Because he is worthy of praise, because he is God.

We do care so very much. I just wish there was more I could do. We will have you in our prayers constantly and without ceasing.

Love,
Thamara Howell

Debbie, We have never met. We are Pam's Parents. We have met several members of your family and we are impressed with their Godly lifestyle. Sunday, we had our Church pray
for you. We want to say that during the prayer we could strongly sense the loving presense of the Lord Jesus and could tell that you are very special to Him. He loves and cares for you very much. We sensed so much love when we read the messages on this page. You are loved and a special person. Some time ago we found some music on the web by a lady (Destinae Rae) who survived cancer and that led us to the following site. www.cancercenter.com . At the bottom of the first page click next then at the bottom of the second page click on survivors to read her story. We don't know anything about this and are not recommending it but it might be helpful in your battle against cancer. We would like to share this scripture with you.

Psalms 28:6 thru 9

6. Blessed be the Lord,
Because He has heard the voice of my supplication.
7. The Lord is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusts in Him and I am helped;
and with my song I shall thank Him.
8. The Lord is their strength,
And He is a saving defense to His anointed.
9. Save Thy people, and bless Thine inheritance;
Be their shepherd also, and carry them forever.

We will continue to pray for you
God Bless You

Debbie, we met one time at your parent's house in Florida on one of your trips back from France. I (Sharla) went to high school with your dad and then we met again later and got into Excel.

No ones know until they have walked in your shoes. It is so easy to say keep up your spirit and know that the Lord will be with you to others. I keep thinking of Lance Armstrong and how he overcame the odds. His dr. is here in Atlanta too. You are young and have the spunk to overcome this. If you are just going through the motions and are in a state of shock or whatever, it is OK. The Lord will carry you through this. Every prayer uttered or even thought will be answered. You are a child of God. He loves you. Keep remembering this. We will keep praying.

Dear Debbie and Dewy,
You are in my prayers regularly, and in the prayers of so many of us here at Melbourne. I have been humming the phrase of a beautiful song written by my husband's surgeon in Mexico, and the part I remember is "Hold on my friend, joy comes in the morning..."
People DO get well from cancer! If others, why not you? You have the Mightiest of the Mighty at your disposal. I am asking the Father to make you well that you may help many others who are in despair, and so to be there to nurture your precious little baby. We all feel we know aurora, for we have heard much about her from your mother.
God bless, sweet friend. I love you, for you belong to two very special people to me.
Prayers continually,

Dear Debbie, I'm an old High School and Military buddy of your Dad's. Back in the 70's, after my combat tour in SE Asia, I was diagnosed with a malignant melanoma on my chest. I underwent major surgery and through the hands of skilled surgeons and prayers of many friends I am here to tell you about it. The power of collective prayer is an incredible force. You and your family have the daily prayers of our family to add to many others as you face this challenge. Keep your spirits up. In His Love, Cass and Brenda

Dearest Debbie,
What a battle lies ahead! We're already on our knees and crying out for you! I cut my hair off yesterday, not knowing it was for you ... but alas, it's the wrong color! Addie and I prayed long and loud for you yesterday and we will not stop. I believe the Lord showed me this morning that He will be your sanctuary. I begin each prayer for you with St. Patrick's Breastplate. I am sending it to you to bind on yourself and I pray that it will give you courage as the Lord Himself gives you strength for this journey. We are all fighting with you ... we love you so strongly!
Our hearts
Roger, Erin, Addie and Cameron Massey
I am bending my knee
In the eye of the Father who created me,
In the eye of the Son who purchased me,
In the eye of the Spirit who cleansed me,
In friendship and affection.

I bind unto myself the name,
The strong name of the Trinity,
By invocation of the same,
The tree in one, and One in Three,
Of whom all nature has creation;
Eternal Father, Spirit, Word,
Praise to the Lord of my salvation
Salvation is of Christ the Lord

Christ be with me, Christ within me,
Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to win me,
Christ to comfort and restore me,
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger,
Christ in hearts of all that love me,
Christ in mouth of friend and stranger.

"...but this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. I say to myself, 'The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.' The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord." --Lamentations 3:21-26

What a blessing it has been for me this morning to read the encouraging messages so many have for you! Tami and Fritz are special to my family and me from their years in Abilene. I pray God's richest blessings for you -- complete healing, and renewal every morning with extra large measures of His peace, comfort, hope, joy and love. May each new day give you an attitude of gratitude -- and thanksgiving for the blessing of a loving husband, a precious daughter, and many friends and acquaintances who are remembering you in prayers. Each of us would be richer if we had that attitude daily! May you continue to radiate His love for you.

I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer three years ago. It was Invasive Ductle cancer and as well was stage three. I just want you to know that a positive attitude strongly helps and every day I am thankful that I am here. The cancer had spread into 9 of my lymph nodes but miraculously wasn't anywhere else. I went through Chemo and radiation and had a mastectomy and reconstruction. I am 33 and a mother of two boys ages 7 and 9. The year I found out I had this my father died of cancer and I got divorced. God gives us many trials in our lives and though I do not understand this one I am thankful because so many people came forward to pray and help when I needed them. I am a very good friend of Chuck Bridges and he helped me the most. Prayer is so helpful and remember that good positive attitude. It's very hard to be positive when all around you seems bleak. Trust me I know! my e-mail is Dejavouse@mediaone.net if you want to talk or need someone to listen! Thank you

my oh my...how time has flown since we were in youth group and high school together! My heart ached yesterday when I got the news about your medical situation. Debbie, I knew when we were 13 years old that you were very special, and I know that you are even more special now at 35 as a wife and mother! God has great plans for you...to prosper you! We do serve and worship an awesome God who is holding you right now! You will be in my prayers daily! Love you...even after all these years! Amy (Randel) Tucker

Debbie, You know that I can't remember a time when you were not a part of my life. I love you so much and want you to know that I am with you every step of the way. Tami and I are experiencing sympathy pains - my hip hurt all day today. I wish you could feel all the love and prayers that are heading your way. There is healing power there. The hardest part is being so far away just now. But One who loves you even more than I do holds you in His hands.

Debbie & Dewey, I met both of you at Tami's wedding and have tried to keep up with your adventures through the two of them. Recently I had a very dear friend face the same struggles you are facing. The best thing he said that I could offer to you is this. "...I don't know all of the trials that I will face but God does." and "...I believe in Him and know that whatever lies ahead, I'll be alright." Please know that my wife (Lisa) and I are diligently praying for you. We have shared our prayers with our friends and you are on their highest list as well. - In Christ, Dale

I don't know you but I am a friend of Pam's. I can't offer you anything but my humble prayers.
I don't know the pain or fright you and your family must be going through ...however, I do know the power of God. The very God who created us can and will heal anyone who comes to Him and then Trusts Him. I pray for Him to reveal His wisdom to you in dealing with this trial. I pray for your complete supernatural healing. I know He will bring strength and comfort to you and your family. I ask these things in Christ's name,
Amen
