Dear Debbie,
I have had you on my mind a lot tonight. I just wanted you to know that I have lifted you up to God in prayer tonight. I do pray for His hand to touch you with his healing. I do pray for his peace to invade your soul. I also lift up your family tonight. I pray that God will be with them and put into their hearts the right words and actions to bring that much needed comfort to you. I pray for the doctors and the nurses that are treating you, I ask God to put into their hands the treatments that will be just right for you.

There is a song that we sing " Be with me Lord, I cannot live without thee. I dare not try to take one step alone. I cannot bear the loads of life unaided. I need Thy strength to lean myself upon.
Be with me Lord, and then if dangers threaten, if storms of trial burst above my head, if lashing seas leap everywhere about me they cannot harm or make my soul afraid."

You are not alone, our Lord is with you, even in the wee small hours of the night, He is the Father rocking beside the bed of his sick child. His love is unfathomable, ever present, ever strong. Open your heart and let His peace fill you and give you comfort.

You have people from all over the world praying for you and we will continue to do so. You are continually in our prayers and in our hearts.

Dear Debbie,
We were on your site today and saw that you had your
first chemo on Good Friday. Being in medicine I believe in
the powere of drugs to heal and I see it happen every day
of my life. I also believe in the wisdom of those who
make and administer those drugs and resspect them more than
I can tell you. Our family prays that both the drugs and
the administrators of those drugs work in a way that will
rid your body of all cancerous cells.

But as a child of God I call for a higher and swifter cure
that comes from the mere hollow of a hand of a mighty God
that loves you and has the power to cure at the sound of
his voice. Our family prays, "the will of God be done
and thru his power and glory may you be cured."

Always in our prayers.....

Hello, to the entire family. Your journey has begun in such a positive way. Lance Armstrong, US Cyclist who not only has survived cancer, but went on to win the Tour de France the last two years, said he spent this time visually the chemo eating away the cancer cells in his body and that every time he used the bathroom, he felt he was getting rid of those dead cancer cells. I think of you many times a day and encouraged by the love around you!!!!

Debbie and Family, We've not met although we have had the pleasure of a visit with your parents a few years ago. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. It's hard sometimes to understand why God has chosen such things for us, but I do believe he has a plan for each of us. Stay strong! His plan will be revealed!

Easter blessings to you all. Margo, Ray and family.

Dear Debbie, Dewey, and Aurora,

I am a friend of yours from days way back when at ISB! I knew you through your brother, Earl, who was in the same class as me. My husband Brooks is also an ISB grad whom you may remember. We were so sorry to hear of your illness and want you to know that you are in our prayers. We still live here in Thailand, now in Chiang Mai and work for Habitat for Humanity. You must be filled with prayer as we can see you have many friends pulling for you all over the world and have a loving and devoted family. We can only guess at the difficulty that you face, espeicially while caring for such a young daughter (we have three daughters, aged 6 to 1). Your daughter is adorable! We were excited to see your faces on the web site and can easily picture your happy family as we pray for your healing. God will care for you and your family. Our trust is in Him. Bless you, Debbie, and your family, and we pray for your good health.

Debbie, Dewey, Aurora:
I'm not suprised by the messages of support on this website, and I'm sure I'm seeing only a fraction of the love being conveyed to you. We are responding because we are obligated to. We are your family. Hundreds, thousands of us. You Bridges and Franklins have big arms and big hearts, big enough to accept waifs, vagabonds and settled folk, rich and poor people, Christians and Non-Christians all over the globe. Through God's great love and your generousity we all have been allowed places at your table. We've been welcome. We are compelled, out of deep affection and gratitude, to help you, our sister, our brother and our pixy.

So, I'm claiming Easter for you. May the Sovereign Lord, who completed the work of our cleansing by bringing His Son back from out of the grave, may He heal your body Debbie. May He give comfort, courage and strength to you three and those who care for and watch over you.

Love, Gene

Debbie, we had our women's ministry secret sister revealing dinner and your name and the web address was given out. We also had a legnthy, beautiful prayer for you and of course your family. We are all so glad that you are back in Atlanta. Let me know if there is anything at all that I can do...I can keep baby or take you to Dr.'s appointments. Just Let me know.
we care more that you'll ever know. About 12 years ago I fought my own battle with breast cancer. My was a very small tumor that was malignant. They removed the lump and after radiation and chemotherapy (with cytoxin=mean stuff)
I seem to be cancer free now.
Regardless, I become very nervous each time I have a mammogram.
By the way we do have a prayer chain going. At 9:oo a.m.and at 7:00 pm there will be about 40-50 people who will litterally stop what they are doing and will pray specificly for you.
You are all in our prayers, you,

I've only met you once before- on the front steps in front of the Pepp residence in Paris in 98. . . I now attend the same Bible Study that Daniella and Hilary go to in Santa Monica, and you are really on their hearts. I wanted you to know from an outside voice that prayers are going out for you in every direction! We can do all things through God who strengthens us! Your strength now is not from your body, but from God in your heart. I read in your updates that your heart was strong.. . which only encourages me more. Though our bodies may fail us, God never will. Let us rejoice. On another note, I will be praying for Dewey and your daughter during this time. I met Dewey when I studied in Florence for a year, when he painted our murals. I still remember that cat he put in one of those paintings. :) Your daughter Aurora is prescious. . . a gift from God.

I remembered last night after I posted my message the story of a woman who healed her own breast cancer through living foods. A friend of mine who is studying nutrition told me the story last summer. Anyway, this woman has a place in Atlanta called the Living Foods Institute where she teaches this method of eating and where she may possibly sell some of her living food creations. She also has a website at On this site, she tells her own story of healing through living foods. You may want to check out the "From Cancer to Living Foods" article on this site because it gives the names of some good books and important healing juices.

Also, I have a former teaching colleague who was cured of stage 3/4 breast cancer. I am trying to contact her about your website so that she can possibly offer some insight for you. Hang in there.

Just taking a little break from work to let you know that the two of you (and beautiful Aurora) are constantly on our minds. Michelle wants you to know that she is eager and available to baby-sit Aurora any time you guys need her to. I know that you will be surrounded by family, but in case the need arises, she (and I, if it's a weekend...) are always here to help (we're only down the street, you know....maybe even next door in July...won't that be fun...I'm afraid you will tire of us).

We are praying for you daily and we know that God will comfort and lead both of you and all of those who are sharing in your journey. From the looks of this page, you have an Army of believers waging war on your cancer. We will continue to fight with you.

See you soon,

Dear Debbie, Dewey and Aurora...I was married to Dewey's aunt Gloria and haven't seen him since he was knee-high to a tadpole. However, we think of you often as we look at one of Dewey's painting's displayed in our home. His aunt fought a similar battle in 1994; however, God had other plans and called her home to the other side of life. You may not remember me, but we worked together a few times at the Hiram Tadpole's and then on opening day in Douglasville. I was greatly, greatly saddened when I heard of your illness. I have many relatives, including my mother, who have fought cancer, and I know well the mental, physical, and emotional hardships of the battle. I grieve that you and your family must now endure these same hardships. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Also, I would like to put together a hospital care package for you all - something I found in my own experiences to be helpful for everyone during the hospital stays. Do not hesitate to call me if I can do anything to help or if you just want to talk. I could share helpful tips from the trenches such as how Emory has terrific cream of asparagus soup and how food is least nauseating for chemo patients when served cold. My phone number is (770) 423-7360.

Dear Dewy, Debbie, and Aurora,
When we first recieved this news we were absolutely shattered. We could see little hope. and especially my feelings were very low. Then we received an email from you on Thursday that changed everything! I know that your attitudes and your Faith in God will never weaken.
When I read of all these people praying for you I can almost here the prayer going to our Father.
I feel we can judge a person's character by the friends they have. You have a world full of the best this earth has to offer. We are very, very proud of both of you.
When I got your email I got rid of my sack cloth and ashes and picked up my banjo.
We will see you in Atlanta very soon and we will continue to keep you in our prayers.
Lots of love from all of us here.

What can we say? Hang in there and remember that there are folk all around the world who are thinking of you and praying for you. Hey, every time we walk up or downstairs we are reminded of Dewe, as that is the only wall we have that is big enough to hold the pictures he painted for us. So here is a promise for the three of you: every time we pass those pictures we will say a little prayer.

God bless and Shalom

Dearest of Debbies,

It was good to sit and talk with you tonight and to be able to hug your neck. I don't know what God has in store, but I know that you are cradled in His arms and He is your comfort. I pray that you, Dewey and Aurora are blessed every day and find the peace that God gives and that you can give to each other. Dwayne and I love you dearly, sweet girl.

Dear Debbie, Dewey, and Aurora,

I'm Dewey's cousin Cindy (Belongie) Kelley. My mother and Howard are brother and sister. I haven't seen Dewey in many, many years. It was great to see a photo on your web site. You are a beautiful family! Anyway, you will all be in my prayers and thoughts. With GOD, all things are possible! I'll look forward to updates. Take Care!

Frankie phoned us last night and told us of the difficulties you are facing.
I am glad that Dewey will be there for you and your lovely daughter the determination to win through. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.

This poem in some way reflects how we feel

You are going through a difficult time we’re all of us aware,
The awful thing you’re facing must be hard to bear.
But don’t let this thing beat you, Fight it all the way,
Be positive about it take it day by day.

Everyone who knows you is willing you to win,
If there is one thing you can do for them, it’s simply don’t give in.

And above all else remember don’t ever, ever forget,
God is in your corner, and he’s never let us down yet.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all of your ways acknowledge Him and He WILL make your paths straight". Prov 3: 5-6

Our God is most awesome and He makes His presence known in amazing ways. Seek Him EVERY moment during this time. Sing hymns, pray scripture, draw HIS strength. He'll see you through.
I will pray specifically for strength, healing and knowledge for the doctors, and I will also pray peace for your husband and daughter as they wait.
May God's most Holy blessings fall on you and your family.

Debbie, Dewey and Aurora -
Continue to think of you daily. . .
Mr. Maguy (my mason) remembers when all three of you came by with the birth announcement of Aurora - he asks about you each day we work together.
Beatrice - at the Goat Cheese Farm sends her love.
I continue to pray that you will have the strength and courage needed. . .

Dear Debbie,
Just got an e-mail from Troy. You will be in my prayers
immediately. You still look the same as you did when we
were all in Bangkok. Those were great days! I'm glad
there was a picture on the website. You have a beautiful
little girl. My heart goes out to you and all your family
as you face this trial. May your faith be strong. Also may
the faith of your family stay strong as they deal with
wondering why. I guess God never told Job why he had to
endure so much.
I know your shining light will touch many for the Lord as
they watch you handle this burden. I will be praying for
you and all your family. Love, Julie Hollingsworth Broyles

I continue to be filled with encouragement to read others encouraging words to you. This morning in worship assembly, sections of Hebrew 10 were read. The part about "let's consider how we can encourage one another and spur one another on to good deeds" was a special blessing! I am so thankful for this avenue provided for many to have opportunity to encourage you as you deal with the multi-faced details of reclaiming health for your body. I am thankful for the blessing of others from the body of Christ's humanity ministering to you in encouraging your spirit ö and for the blessing each of us get from reading messages that feed not only your soul, but ours too! God bless you today ö with renewed filling of His spirit within you. May you FEEL God holding you, His dear child, as you long to hold Aurora. May He comfort you as you do her. May He fill you with security, as your hugs fill her. Grace & peace, Brenda Chrane, Abilene, Texas.

Dear Debbie, Dewey and Aurora,
Just a note to let you know that our prayers are ongoing for you and your family. Tomorrow we will be in Rome at the Oak Hill congregation as our son in law is installed as a deacon. Be assured that many prayers will be lifted up there as well as at our home congregaion Woodstock. As your mom says our GOD is truly an AWESOME GOD. All of the support messages are such and encouragement to all of us.
Psalms 95:6-7 reads..." Come let's worship him and bow down. Let's kneel before the Lord who made us, because he is our God and we are the people he takes care of and the sheep he tends." Have faith that He is beside you every step of this journey. His peace and love can sustain you through the difficult days as they come.

We love you and your family and will pray without ceasing for you.

We've been praying for you at night when we say our prayers with Erica (age 23 months). Last night we prayed this exact prayer 5 times because at the end of the prayer each time Erica whispered "Again!" So again we prayed: "Dear God, please be with Dewey, Debbie, Aurora, Sherri & Tami... but especially with Debbie & Aurora right now. In Jesus name, Amen." (Again!) Erica is teaching us about praying without ceasing!
Our hearts are with you!

Dearest Debbie, Dewey, Aurora - You are in our thoughts constantly, you mean so much to us and we have the fondest of memories from last summer's french adventure. We are looking forward to spending many warm summers with you at les Meurs. My parents send your their love and will pray for you. My brother Thor and wife Poonsee (Teo)are thinking of you and praying for you. My heart is heavy, but I think of all the strength, energy and love that is within you and surrounds your whole little family and there is power there!

I know Debbie from the Texas years, where I met her and her fantastic family at Sunset while visiting. She has a special place in my heart, and is an important part of my life. My husband Knut Erik has known Debbie since she came to visit me in Norway one Christmas a long time ago, and my kids Markus and Kristina absolutely adore Aurora after last summer's holidays together. Our continuous thoughts and prayers go to you now, Dewey, Aurora-baby and my wonderful Debbie.

Dear Dewey,

I don't know if you'll remember me, but I stayed with you and your family during International Campaigns in '78, I think. :) I just got the news via David's email bulletin. I'm so sorry to hear about your dear wife! I will definately add her to our house prayer list and our church's prayer list as well. I'm in Albania now doing mission work! I can't believe it when I look back at who I was when I met you. I'm living with two older women, and we all teach English using the Bible here. It's wonderful!

My mother also had cancer two years ago, and a dear friend gave her this piece. I think it's very comforting. I hope you and Debbie think so too.

Cancer is so limited. . .
It cannot cripple love,
It cannot shatter hope,
It cannot corrode faith,
It cannot destroy peace,
It cannot kill friendship,
It cannot suppress memories,
It cannot silence courage,
It cannot invade the soul,
It cannot steal eternal life,
It cannot conquer the Spirit.

May God Bless and keep you in the hollow of His hand!
