Hi Debbie, Dewey and Aurora

I miss you all and you have all been in my mind and prayers constantly.

Debbie, all this week colleagues at work have been telling me they are praying for you .... in fact, so many of them didn't check their pigeon holes with your list of prayer requests and consequently have told me "we will be praying for you THIS weekend"! as well! So, more prayer. I can see God moving in so many ways Debbie and I am encouraged ... I want you to be encouraged too.

I miss Aurora - she is a really beautiful wee girl with a heart full of joy and love. I really took her into my heart and when she sat on my knee and we were praying, I could tell she just loved it ... being part of the prayers for all of you.

Dewey - I admire you so much dear brother .... you are so thoughtful in so many ways ... I admire your courage and strength and how you love your family, putting them first.

Debbie, I am amazed by you.

Love Iris

Or Father in heaven, we pray that as Debbie takes the 'xeloda' medicine, it will be powerful in attacking and weakening and destroying the cancer cells. Make those cells vulnerable and defenceless. Make them die. This is our prayer through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

USA - Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at 11:44:57 (EDT)
I am teacher at Iris's school and I want to share this with you!

"There is a story of a man who slipped when walking along the edge of a cliff ... as he fell he clung with his fingertips to the very edge of the cliff face ... help me, he shouted, is anyone there? It's okay a voice said from far below ... just let go and I will catch you. A few seconds past and the man shouted again, is there anyone else there?

Often in the lives of great religious people it is in the moment of greatest despair that they have found their true strength. It is then that they learn to let go and trust fully in God."

I will pray for you daily

YOU'RE A STAR!

Dear Dewey, Debbie, Aurora and Phyllis - the prayer posse arrived safely home this afternoon after our all too brief time with you. Our journey home was as smooth and effortless as our trip out ... God certainly answered prayers for our safe passage.

We have been encouraged and blessed by you over the past 24 hours.

"you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life" (Philippians 2: 15-16)

Be in no doubt, that as with the apostle Paul, what has happened to you has really served to advance the gospel (see Philippians 1:12).

A friend has asked that I let you know that you are in my prayers. You are.

I am not a Christian, I am a Buddhist, but prayer is not graded according to schools of faith but by the sincerity of one's heart. I trust that your struggles, and the struggles and challenges of those around you, are causes for deeper love and understanding of self, others and the world.

Three of us from the church in Northampton, England are travelling to Les Meurs this coming Saturday (24 April) to spend a day in prayer with Dewey and Debbie and Aurora. We will carry with us the preyers of the Northampton church, where Dewey's parents and his sister, Carol, are members.

We will arrive about 3.00 pm European time (2.00 pm BST, 9.00 am EST) on Saturday and leave about 12.30 pm European time the next day, Sunday 25 April.

We wish to invite you all to join us in a 24 hour period of prayer for Dewey & Debbie & Aurora. We know that you hold them up constantly in prayer, but this will be a time that we can be united together in our requests to God for them.

If you have a heart to join with us, please post a message on the web-site here this week to tell Dewey & Debbie that you will be taking part - and then post messages on Saturday and Sunday so that they can see as well as feel your participation. This will give them tremendous encouragement and blessings.

In our preparation for this weekend we asked Debbie what we should pray for, so that our prayers are concrete and specific and focussed. They are listed below. May we invite you to print off the list and keep it with you during the 24 hours between Saturday and Sunday. At various times, take out the list and pray for one or more of the specific needs that Dewey & Debbie have.

SOME THINGS TO PRAY FOR, FOR DEBBIE & DEWEY & AURORA

1. to reduce the side effects of the chemo-therapy; in particular protection for Debbie's gut, her mouth, her hands and her feet
2. Debbie feels well enough to work in her garden or clean house or do some decorating
3. the 'xeloda' pills penetrate the cancer cells
4. the cancer cells are weak and vulnerable and die
5. protection for Debbie's healthy cells - that they are not attacked by the chemo-therapy
6. protection for Debbie's red and white blood cells
7. Debbie's pain is reduced
8. strength to handle the side effects
9. peace and relief during periods of discomfort
10. joy in times of sadness
11. that Debbie is well enough to eat her herbal supplements and good food
12. reduction of nausea and diarrhea
13. quality time for Dewey and Debbie and Aurora together - to have fun and make great memories together
14. for long life
15. to stay strong
16. to draw closer to God
17. for Aurora not to worry about losing Debbie
18. for Aurora and Dewey to have good health
19. for everyone else who is prayng for Dewey & Debbie & Aurora
20. for Debbie's medical team
21. for the Bridges family and the Franklin family in France, the UK, Australia and the USA

"From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another." (John 1:16)

Dear Debbie, Dewey and Aurora,
I am excited and feel VERY blessed by God right now. We are leaving to fly to England in just a few hours ... I have so much to do BUT had to send you a quick message!!! I have been praying for a chance to come see you ... and I believe the Lord will "connect" us again, as He has in the past. I will feel you in later with the details of the last two weeks as God called us, the whole family, to go to Farnham England! for ministry training with Ellel Ministries, for 6-8 months. I cant wait to hug you and meet your family, although I feel I know them already! Love to you all! Laura :)

Debbie, well it is happening very quickly. We will soon be all together, Lord willing, and what a time we will have. Take care of yourself, get plenty of rest before the trip and plan for lots of good memories and fun. We love you. We share the love that we are taught by Christ. This is just a note to let you know that we are daily thinking of you.

Hi Debbie, Dewey and Aurora,
Hope you have a happy easter and are feeling better. I've been thinking about you alot lately and haven't heard any updates so I wanted to check in. We have moved into a new house in Anaheim and I started a new job in Long Beach so things have been "new", but are starting to settle down. Anyways, I am thinking of you and hope you are doing ok.

Dear all three,

It was so good to be with you last week. Mom and I had a wonderful time (although much too short as always) in Les Moeurs thanks to your great hospitality. What a marvelous part of France you live in. Spring is finally here and I hope it brings you peace and joy. It was fun to watch the Rock-Family-Trees show with you. Prog Rock lives (although I can do with a little bit less Emerson, Lake and Palmer).

Dear Debbie, Dewey and Aurora, May God give the three of you the strength, joy and love to sustain you today. And may God be glorified and praised as He heals Debbie COMPLETELY. May you feel His loving arms as He gives Dewey the strength to take care of his girls. As He gives Aurora the calm assurance that she is loved and cherished. And as He gives Debbie freedom from anxiety so that she may feel peace, health, and daily healing from the source of LIFE. God, take these precious children in your loving hands and bless them immeasurably.
We love you three so much.

Hi, Debbie, thanks for your recent update. I was anxious to hear how you're doing. So glad you did not have a serious fracture! Wanted to tell you that I've been on xeloda since Nov., and it has worked well to decrease my liver mets. I don't have bone mets. An oncologist at U. of AL in Birmingham recommended that my Emory doc follow Sloan Kettering's xeloda protocol of one week on, one week off instead of the usual two on and one off. He said it works just as well and lessens or eliminates the hand foot syndrome. I have had a slight problem with that side effect but nothing like lots of people get. Keep us posted about how you're doing. Also wanted to tell you that Michele Runningen from the WC group passed away last month. We were so sad to lose her. As always, you remain in my prayers. Hi Debbie,
Always remember that your Angels are with you at ALL times.
Have you asked them to help you? If not then ask for their help - better still, write them a short message starting "Dear Angels...." asking if they would help you in your time of need; they always respond in some manner or other. Also try visiting this website: http://www.angelspeake.com/ and registering for their Angel email letter.

Hi Dewey..

It's Kenneth Kerr here. I heard about the challenge your family is facing and I wanted to add my encouragement. I admire your strength and determination Debbie, NEVER GIVE UP!!! If it is indeed true that "thoughts are things" and that we become what our dominant thoughts present to our mind, then keep on keeping on with courage! Keep on focusing your mind on the vision of a long healthy life with your family, and keep on seeking solutions in the midst of the challenge. Our prayers are with you, and I look forward to the day that you share COMPLETE VICTORY with us!!!

Hi Debbie,

Thanks so much for your long and open message. Through it I understood that I hardly have a clue of what you're going through every second of the day. We all have our own ideas of what physical and emotional pain is about, but if we don't actually feel it ourselves, we don't know how deep it goes. Thank you Debbie, as always, for posting to your website. Your love and positive attitude shine, even in the honesty amidst the hard times you are engaged in at the moment. You have some wonderful friends close in distance and many more close in spirit. It's OK to lean on other's in time of need. It is a healing for both. In twelve step meetings I have tried to learn to live 'a day at a time'. Sometimes an hour at a time. One of the messages I learned there, and can cling to is that 'I am a spiritual being having a human experience'. Keep your focus on what you want, the good that you see in Aurora and Dewey, the beauty of your home and friends. The Lord and your many friends around the world are with you in spirit. And with you in love.

On this Valentine's weekend, Im sending you my hugs, prayers and love. I admit that I don't "get it" most of the time... I don't understand suffering and I don't understand happiness...but I find hope in reading about your experiences either way, because its all part of this brief blink-of-an-eye we call life. You know, your letters often remind me of Job (although I should think that you have many more supportive friends than he did!). But even still, Im forced to remember that it is God who is in control, who understands your every thought and feeling, and who has a higher purpose in all of this. That He is holding you in his hand through all this is truly inspiring. Greetings to your family. Love, Justine

Dear Debbie, Dewey and Aurora,
Hi! It's Melanie (the English girl) from the church here in Poitiers. Just to say that you are all in our thoughts and prayers and we miss not seeing you on a sunday morning. I'm currently at home, awaiting the birth of my baby within the next couple of weeks, and becoming a mum makes me think of what a lovely example of a loving christian family you are. Que Dieu vous garde!!

Debbie, I send you my love and want you to know that you remain in my daily prayers. I never thought I would be joining you in such a personal way on this journey of healing (the road less traveled). I have always admired your strength and courage through your battle with cancer. Now as I too battle this disease I see the faithful hand of God working in my life and the lives of those around me and I stand amazed at His goodness through it all. I firmly believe what is says in Psalms 145:13, The Lord is faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made.

We pray that your new year will be filled with an abundance of blessings. We continue to pray for your healing, Debbie. We were once again reminded of the creative gifts of Dewey when we were in the Florence Villa in mid-December. The mural with the angelic face of Debbie was a daily reminder of your gifts, Dewey, and of your beauty, Debbie. Aurora, you, too, have the face of an angel. Love to all three. Jan and Richard

I don't even know your sister; I just received an email-asking for prayer- from a friend of a friend of a friend of your sister. I regularly check your updates and am always encouraged by your positive outlook and faith. I feel as though I know you, Dewey, and precious Aurora. Hey Debbie,

I just recently saw your new pics and they are just wonderful. Hope everything is fine with you and that you get used (if one can say so) to your new therapy.
Over here in Heidelberg, Kornelia is your best PR manager when it comes to selling the CD. She is very talented convincing to buy it. I'm very proud of her and hope this does you a little good.
I wish you a wonderful christmas time together with Dewey, Aurora and your family. Hope you're painfree and can really enjoy the holiday season. For the upcoming year I'm wishing you HEALTH, HEALTH and HEALTH.

Hello Franklins! We were reminiscing about Thanksgiving 01 and got tickled remembering Jeven, Fritz and Dewey pushing our car after the transmission went out. What better way to spend Thanksgiving? Hmmm, maybe being called upon to play a cursed violin when you have not even held one for seven years? Well, we hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving. We miss you and are continuing to pray for your healing.

With love and kisses,
Jeven, Michelle, Sophie and Ruby
