Hi Debbie,
Sorry I missed talking to you last night, but I'll try again. It was fun hearing Dewey's voice.
The pictures are great--what a handsome family! But, I'm partial to that girl with the shaved head.
We love you,

Hi Deb,
Boy, do we feel your "pain!"
Since Bill's accident and subsequent paralysis, we've become quite familiar with "the routine."
If it's not the clinically known Mineral Oil Enema, it is what's commonly called around here..."the silver bullet!" (Better known as suppositories.)
We've grown so accustomed to it, that we thought everyone must use them!
So glad about the news, we've been wondering how you are doing.
The photos are marvelous...what a handsome family!
It's great to see all of you together at once.
And, all dressed up with somewhere to go.
WOW!

We pray that the next chemo will go very well, no complications.
Isn't that wonderful Dr. Eley just the best!?!?
Appts. at Borders are the next best thing to Rocky Road Ice Cream!!! Well, not quite!
Hang in there, stay strong, and give hugs all 'round! :-)
Much love to you sweet girl,
Barbara

Dear Debbie,

Arrived in London on Sunday and went to the Texas Lone Star Saloon for dinner! We have walked down our old Beaufort Gardens street, shopped in Harrods and went through Covent Gardens. The city is still the same (even the same smells!). I have looked at all of Dewey's paintings and would love to have a suitcase large enough to bring them all home with me. I am thinking of you so much here and look at our group's picture every time I go down the stairs.

Love to you all,

He wrote that Steve Miller tune 'Jet Air Liner'. Anyway, he sends his best wishes and regards. So does the wonderful, magical Victoria Williams,Marty Grebb and a ton of other poetic champions. Good things to you today and everyday.

Dear Debbie,
We take it that things are going well with you.
The bad cells are getting the boot and the good cells are multipling daily.
We continue to lift you up to the Lord, knowing that He is in charge and knows your needs better than any of us mortals.
It sounds like you are doing all the right things: eating right, resting, smiling...oh, that sweet smile!
Because of Bill's osteoporosis, brought on by medications and his lack of exercise since his accident, we have met a wonderful couple over the Internet. Both of us had gotten into a Website for osteoporosis and they got in touch with us. They are from Walla Walla, Wash., and are traveling throughout the U.S. They stopped by this past week to meet us and I do believe we have become fast friends. What a sweet couple! They are former missionaries with the Assembly of God. You have been in their prayers too, and they have "shared" you story with other Christian friends. You've overtaken the world, Girl!
They consider it a privilege to do this, as do all of us who know you.
You are so loved by a worldwide contingent of prayer warriors.
We saw that you are hoping to come to the beach again, the end of the month. We are heading to N.C. to see Kristy and her family, so will miss you on this trip, but we will think of you...all the time.
Well, sweet girl, "Be strong and courageous and do not be afraid. He'll never forsake you!"
I love you, Barbara

Debbie - I'm not even sure if you remember me. I was blessed to witness several months of your pregnancy at 56 Prince's Gate as you were our director in London. Those months made for the most fun, challenging, and spiritually shaping time of my life. Yours and Dewey's presence there was a big part of that. I will never forget our Valentine's Day dinner with Dewey on the hurdy gurdy (?) that erupted into a spontaneous dance, our baby shower for Aurora when Dr. Phillips surprised you, Dewey's "try a taco" shirt or ability to shape a napkin into the Sydney Opera House at the Chicago Rib Shack,or the cab ride that you both shared with a few of us back to the flat after our final banquet on the Thames River. I want you to know (and I'm confident that I speak on behalf of all of the Londoners of Spring 1999) that even though we have all gone our separate ways, we will never forget you helping direct us through one of the best experiences of our lives. You don't know how much that means to so many of us. Our prayers are with you. Stay strong in the Lord and in His mighty power! You are an encouragement . . .

Deb and Dew,
We just returned yesterday from a weekend in the desert. It was lovely. Gene and Lydia fishing on an inflatable raft on high desert lake, and Eloise and I wading along the shore. The air was fresh and the water was cold. It was, as always, so refreshing -- physically, mentally, spiritually, -- to get away from the city and from the routine of our lives. I spent a lot of time talking to God at the lake. And we talked about you. I was once again filled with deep gratitude for the great love He has shown me through the two of you. And I begged him for your complete healing, Debbie.

On our drive home we passed by the mountain where you two were married and I had to smile and even laugh as I relived some of the moments of that weekend in my mind. I thought about each of your dear family members who were there, and who are with you now. How comforted I am to know that those who love you most are there touching you as I wish I could. I pray for the hope and strength of your updates to continue in abundance, for you and for those dear ones as well.

love, love, love,

Dear Dewey, Debbie, and Aurora,
I have watched the updates and keep abreast of all the messages. I know that many, many, thousands of rightous people are praying for your recovery. It is such a pleasure to know that the pain has left. Now I am praying that all will get back to normal. I pray that each area of cancer will shrink and go away, just as the pain has.
This may sound to some like I am asking too much, but, Our God can cause the blind to see, and the dead to live! He can certainly shrink a silly tumor, cant he?
This is my prayer and I am sticking with it. By now you should be over your latest chemo. and feeling good again.
May each Week be better than the last.
We love you and keep you in our prayers constantly.
Lots of love.

Dearest Debbie,

I have a preacher friend who told me to dream a dream and then come see him and he would help me to make it happen. He said it had to be a big dream, that most people wasted their time with little dreams. I have dreamed big dreams and I know you have too. God and the people he works through here can make anything happen as we rest in His beautiful vison. God is the author of sweet dreams and the power that makes them a reality and He loves you.

It's nice here today in Melbourne...puffy clouds, the birds chirping and singing their sweet songs. It's warm, of course, but hey....this is Florida! :-)
I have a picture in my mind of you, cured of the cancer and dancing with Aurora in a field of flowers. So sweet!
Hoping the procedure goes well and you will have as few side effects as possible.
Rest well and know that we love you very much and are thinking of you "all the time."
Much love and hugs all 'round, Barbara

Dearest Debbie,

I was thinking about the fact that we are all walking on a high wire. Some of us are walking high above a lava lake and some of us are walking an inch above a feather bed. I pray the treatment will go well today and that you feel better soon so you can dance on the wire.
Love Always,
John

Hey Deb,
Just a note to say happy belated birhday. I attempted vainly to send you one of those horrible e-mail birthday cards (oh, the depths one sinks to when working long hours) I swore I'd never send to anyone but my software kept freezing up. So, you were spared. So, I'm gonna combine a few ditties over several days to send you to make amends.
As you gear up for tomorrow and the great infusions, know that you'll be on my mind and in my prayers.
We celebrated Addie's 5th birthday this weekend. Dress up, tea pearty, papper dolls, strings of pearls, paper fans, musical chairs, quarter sandwiches and girley food, and riding in a trailor pulled by the riding lawn mower! Such great fun! Expect pictures! I go to pick up Mladen tomorrow at the air port. More on him and his later. I love you and cheer for you from my little patch of ground in Texas!

My heart
Roger

Debbie, Dewey, and Aurora,

We have just spent the past 11 days in Cambria and we thought of you. Drove up to Half Moon Bay and we bought you a hat, Debbie, in Santa Cruz. I seriously doubt that you need one in Atlanta in June, though, but will get it off to you soon.
Love & Kisses,

Dear Debbie,
It has been so long since we have seen each other. Words can't express how sorry I am to hear of your illness. I think of you constantly and pray for you constantly. If you are anything like you were in high school and Mike says you are, then I know you are a person who has great courage and strength. When I have thought of you over the years, what comes to mind is a person full of life ,energy and a great sense of romance and adventure! Debbie, your sweet, fun spirit has always touched me and now you continue to touch me as I hear of your faith. It has been so good to live close to Mike and Chris. Mike is such a man of faith and always a great example to all of us. Debbie, a couple of months ago I found a picture of you from our senior year, on the back you wrote such a sweet note about our friendship. I wish we would of kept in touch better-so much has happened to both of us in the last 19 years! Today I hope we can begin to reconnect. I will close but please know that you are in my heart daily and always in my prayers. I love you, Laura (Gilliam)Close Isaiah 41:10

Debbie,

We are friends of Mike Wade. I wanted to let you know that you are in our thoughts and prayers! Believe in the power of PRAYER...it works!! I know, last year, we almost lost our son to bacterial meningitis. I believe in prayer and the power of the LORD. He is the healer! Keep up your smiles and faith.

Dearest Debby,

"...I am waiting a new rebirth of wonder." I love that line. Every now and then a bit of wonder blossoms and I realize that anything is possible. "...from glory unto glory." Just when I think I may have a grip on it I find out that God and life are more than I could ever dream.
I hope today is filled with light and peace.
Love Always,
John

HI Deb.

In the turmoil of last minute wedding preparations (one more week!:-) I wanted to toss you a little message to remind you that i love you and that we continue to pray for your strength and peace and heart. Each time little Danny prays, whether it be for a meal, a prayer time, or bedtime, he always asks God to "make Debbie better".

NOTE: I see the Purple Professor is online: he'll be proud to know the colors of my wedding...;-)

Just a little note her to let you know you are continually in my prayers. I truly believe that God is going to bring forth a miracle. This miracle will not only heal you but the hearts of all of us praying for you. For when I pray for you I also pray for my self. I just know God is taking us both under his wing. I'm sorry I haven't written sooner. My modem takes spells of not working so I am typing this on my daughter's new computer. Take care, we love you and all of your family.

Debbie,
I don't think you'll know me personally, but I believe my dad was in the military with your dad over in Germany. You may remember him...Mike Wade. He asked me to look at your website, and so I just wanted to send out some support to you and your family. My husband and I will remember you all in our prayers, and we will ask our friends and church family to do so as well. Take care of yourself, and God Bless!

Hello Franklins!

It was SOOOOOO wonderful to see you and spend a little time catching up. Aurora is a true blessing, not to mention a "hoot!" I am absolutely in awe of her brilliant little self. Like mother, like daughter. Dewey, she definitely has your sense of humor and Debbie's laugh. Can't have one without the other. I love you all and not a day goes by without a heartfelt prayer.
